GE to supply steam turbine generators to China

To help meet the growing power demands in northern and central China, GE recently announced two deals under contracts with Huaneng Power International (HPI) and China Power International Development Limited (CPI International). GE will supply two steam turbine generator units respectively at Taihang Power Plant and Dabieshan Power Plant phase 2 project. The units are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2017.

The two ultra-supercritical steam turbines, coupled with two turbo generators, will be installed at the Taihang Power Plant and each is likely to produce 660 MW of electricity. Located in North China’s Shanxi Province, the 1320 MW of new power is expected to meet the energy needs of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei areas, and boost economic development.

GE will also deliver two 660 MW ultra-supercritical steam turbines generators units to Dabieshan Power Plant phase 2 project. The project is likely to help satisfy the increasing local power needs and further enhance the reliability of local power grid in China’s Hubei Province. The units are scheduled for delivery by mid-2017.
