The company will deliver gas compression trains, propane compressors, liquefaction trains, and a power island to the Jafurah Gas Field and Plaquemines LNG.

Baker Hughes announced two large-scale gas technology orders for Aramco’s Jafurah gas field and Venture Global LNG’s Plaquemines LNG and additional U.S.-based projects last week. The equipment orders and associated service agreements were both booked in Q4 2024 and announced prior to the 2025 Baker Hughes Annual Meeting.

Baker Hughes + Aramco

Tecnicas Reunidas contracted Baker Hughes to deliver six gas compression trains and six propane compressors to Aramco’s Jafurah gas field, located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The electric motor-driven compression solutions will facilitate the gas plant and compressions facilities’ third expansion phase.

“Gas continues to serve as a vital source of reliable, abundant, and lower-carbon energy,” said Ganesh Ramaswamy, Executive Vice President of Industrial & Energy Technology at Baker Hughes. “Our advanced gas compression technology will enable efficient and reliable production from the Jafurah field, further supporting Aramco’s vision and contributing to Saudi Arabia's energy development.”

Baker Hughes’ equipment orders are aided by its recently expanded Industrial and Energy Technology Dammam Center. Previously, Baker Hughes supplied Aramco with compression solutions the Haradh and Hawiyah gas plants, Phase 1 of the Jafurah gas plant and gas compression facilities, and equipment for the third phase of Saudi Arabia’s Master Gas System project.

Baker Hughes + Venture Global LNG

Venture Global LNG awarded Baker Hughes a major contract to provide a modularized LNG system and power island to support its U.S.-based LNG projects. The company also signed a multi-year services agreement to conduct maintenance, inspection, repairs, and engineering during Phases 1 and 2 of the Plaquemines LNG project in Louisiana.

“As power demand surges, LNG has a critical role to play in providing a reliable, flexible fuel source that can be quickly scaled to meet rising demand,” said Lorenzo Simonelli, Chairman and CEO of Baker Hughes. “We have been a partner in natural gas operations for more than 30 years, and our collaboration with Venture Global is an example of what our industry needs more of today: businesses coming together to leverage technologies and services that can deliver reliable and efficient natural gas operations to support sustainable energy development.”

To date, Baker Hughes supplied Venture Global LNG with over 100 MTPA of production capacity, providing solutions to the Calcasieu Pass and Plaquemines LNG facilities. Recently, Plaquemines LNG successfully loaded and shipped its first LNG cargo after achieving first production.
