Blackstone Industrial Services (Blackstone), a Canadian critical rotating equipment services company, has expanded its role in support of its customers and BHGE. As an Authorized Service & Sales Channel of Baker Hughes, a GE company (BHGE), Blackstone scope has expanded to support parts, service and repairs for legacy products like its AC compressor and Rotoflow turboexpander for all of Canada. Blackstone will handle distribution and sales for all western Canadian Lufkin power transmission services.
Allis-Chalmers (AC Compressor, 1985) has produced quality equipment in the industrial space over its more than 100-year history. Its compressor lines manage critical processes in most industrial, mining and oil and gas applications.
Rotoflow pioneered the use of the turboexpander in the natural gas processing industry. In natural gas applications, Rotoflow turboexpanders deliver top efficiency for cryogenic natural gas processing through dew point control, NGL recovery, ethane recovery and LNG production.
Lufkin Industries has been a pivotal OEM in the power transmission and oilfield space since 1902. Lufkin's gearing solutions transmit power from engines, electric motors, turbines and compressors around the world.
GE Oil & Gas purchased AC, Rotoflow and Lufkin in 2001, 2004 and 2013, respectively, and inherited a major install base worldwide.
"Service in Canada is not easy," said Alex Fulthorpe, P.Eng, vice president of sales and marketing for Blackstone. "Weather, intensive logistics and a tight technical workforce make it one of the most interesting proving grounds on earth. We are happy to have built an incredible team in the region. These products are proven and help us drive our mandate for reliability in our service. Their legacy means we can build on good history with dynamic force. Working closer with BHGE to strengthen their service offering should speak volumes to the meaning of the word institution. We aren't going anywhere, and we are here to help."
