Recent developments for the microturbine producer

The company secured an energy-as-a-service (EaaS) long-term rental order for five C1000 Signature Series microturbines. The microturbines will be installed at a remote oil & gas production site and are expected to be commissioned in May. Capstone signed a 3.6 MW rental contract with a large west Texas energy company.The 3.6 MW of Capstone systems will replace traditional reciprocating engine generator rental units.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) recertified the Capstone C65 microturbine as a distributed generation resource exempt from CARB’s emission standards. The C65 was first certified in 2007 and has maintained its compliance for the last 15 years. IBT Group, Capstone’s authorized distributor in Italy, received an order for a C1000 Signature Series microturbine to power a district heating plant for the municipality of Bardonecchia, Italy. Optimal Group, Capstone’s authorized distributor in Australia, New Zealand, the Republic of Fiji, and Papua New Guinea, received an order for a C800 Signature Series microturbine to power a remote oil and gas site and provide ancillary power to a compressor station. This is the fifth microturbine order from this customer and is expected to be commissioned in October 2023.
