oosan Heavy Industries & Construction recently announced that Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction America (DHIA) has completed the acquisition of US gas turbine service provider ACT Independent Turbo Service (ACT). Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction signed a memorandum of understanding on the acquisition of ACT in June.
Headquartered in Houston, Texas of the US, ACT provides maintenance services for core components for gas turbines such as combustions, turbines, and rotors.
After the acquisition, the company will be renamed Doosan Turbomachinery Services. The acquisition of ACT will earn Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction a bridgehead to the US gas turbine market which is 16 GW a year. This is because the company secured booked orders and know-how as well as expertise and facilities specialized in gas turbine services.
By 2030, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction will lay the foundation for tapping into the global gas turbine service market, which is estimated to be about 210 GW via the acquisition of the ACT.
