Gas Turbine Controls Corp. (GTC), which provides replacement parts, training, field services and solutions, has agreed to acquire 100% of the shares of Industrial Control Care (ICC), a Dubai company, for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition is part of GTC's portfolio and growth plan to expand its offerings to cover the support of industrial controls. The transaction is expected to close in the second or third quarter of 2019.
Since 2001, GTC has established itself within the turbine operator industry as a staple alternative support option to the OEM, particularly when it comes to the legacy (obsolete) install base. GTC will continue its core offerings to support legacy (obsolete) systems, but with the acquisition of ICC, it widens its range of controls systems, which will benefit a far broader population of end-users looking to save on their OPEX and avoid costly CAPEX.
GTC President John SantaCroce stated, "Adding a sales office and repair facility in Dubai will give GTC's customers in the MEA region better access to our products and services. Adding systems such as ABB, Siemens, Rolls En-tronic, Alstom, Bailey, Honeywell, Triconex and others to the GTC portfolio will bring tremendous value to operators who are facing daunting budgetary hardships in today's economic environment, making the job for the I&C divisions ever more challenging. Now GTC can help plants by offering cost-efficient repairs and replacement parts for a wide range of systems."
