180 MW of electricity to Ivory Coast
GE and Azito Energie S.A. are starting operations for the simple cycle of the Azito Phase IV power plant, located in the Yopougon district of Abidjan in Ivory Coast. GE is providing a GT13E2 2012 MXL2 gas turbine, power generation equipment, analytics, and controls software, and a full 20-year service agreement. The plant will add 180 MW, or 8% of the country’s current installed capacity.
Azito will use analytics to improve overall fleet performance using GE’s Digital Asset Performance Management (APM) software solution. APM will analyze plant historical performance and operations to monitor and diagnose issues; improve capacity planning, efficiency, and emissions.
“This project supports Ivory Coast’s plans for transition towards lower carbon power generation through gas and renewables,”says Kenneth Oyakhire, Services Director, GE Gas Power Sub-Saharan Africa.
