GE installs second gas turbine at Pakistan plant

GE and Harbin Electric International Company Limited have installed, first fired and synchronized a second gas turbine at the Bhikki Power Plant. The installation of the second GE 9HA gas turbine with a capacity of 385 MW was achieved in less than 18 months.
Bhikki is now the country’s first power plant to run on imported liquefied natural gas, and should start combined cycle operations later this year. Pakistan is the first country from the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and South Asia region to use an HA turbine.
