Exergy and Strabag have formed a partnership for the development of turnkey geothermal power plants with ORC technology (Organic Rankine Cycle). From process design, approval management and engineering to construction, manufacture of key equipment, delivery, assembly, and commissioning, to long-term service contracts and the operation of plants, they are pooling their competencies to build these ORC plants in Germany. Strabag has already built a geothermal power plant with ORC technology in Garching for Silenos Energy. Over time, an expansion of the partnership to central and south-eastern Europe is likely.
In geothermal power plants, Exergy is the world's second largest ORC plant provider and can boast a project portfolio with around 450 MW of installed capacity based on the flexibility and efficiency of the radial outflow turbine it developed.
