GE announced today that commercial operation was recently achieved at GS Power’s Anyang Combined Heat and Power Plant Unit 2-1 in Anyang City, Gyeonggi Province of Korea, using one GE 7HA.02 gas turbine, one GE D652 steam turbine, one heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) and plant control system.
This important milestone was achieved eight weeks earlier than scheduled thanks to the 7HA gas turbine’s innovative modular architecture and constructability. With pre-assembled modules, 7HA gas turbine requires fewer skilled work hours, reducing installation time and cost, and providing simpler and faster serviceability over time.
Anyang CHP is GE’s first HA gas turbine delivered to and commercially operated in Korea.
Through the modernization of Anyang combined heat plant, the plant is set to achieve more than thirteen points of additional efficiency for electricity generation and eight points of additional efficiency for district heating respectively. GE’s 7HA.02 gas turbine, GE D652 steam turbine, heat recovery steam generator (HRSG), and plant control system will also be installed at Anyang CHP unit 2-2.
