Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems will upgrade its gas turbines and other components at two Egyptian power plants.
MHPS will supply the new components for the M701F gas turbines and other generator parts at the 750 MW Siki Krir and El Atf power plants. Siki Krir is located west of Alexandria while El Atf is east of the city.
Japan's MHPS has been providing after-sales service for the facilities at both plants. Along with the Cairo North Power Station upgrade project which was awarded in August 2017 and completed successfully earlier this month, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will fund these projects through an ODA (Official Development Assistance) Loan.
The West Delta Electricity Production Company began operating the Siki Krir plant in 2009. The Middle Delta Electricity Production Company began operating the El Atf plant in the same year.
