Siemens builds on its successful SGT6-5000F gas turbine platform with a step change in NOx emissions while firing fuel oil by demonstrating 25 ppm NOx emissions with water injection. The current industry standard is 42 ppm for other OEM F-Class gas turbines. This result has been achieved in conjunction with Great River Energy at their Elk River Peaking Station in Minnesota, USA, and has been validated under real world operating conditions.
