South American industrial economies are continuing to grow and Sulzer is supporting this expansion with its latest appointment in the market. Marcelo Alves has taken on the role of President of Rotating Equipment Services in South America and is aiming to further develop Sulzer’s range of services for customers.
Marcelo has over 25 years of experience in delivering engineering solutions to a wide variety of industries. His appreciation of customer needs and understanding of high-quality maintenance procedures will help with the implementation of the business growth plan.
In the South American market, Sulzer has a strong presence with five service centers across Argentina, Brazil and Colombia that will be developed further to make more services available. Sulzer’s increasing use of additive manufacturing and reverse engineering is greatly reducing the time taken to repair older machines and these processes will continue to deliver cost effective maintenance solutions.
Marcelo concludes: “By taking advantage of Sulzer’s worldwide manufacturing and maintenance services, customers are able to optimize the performance of their equipment and minimize downtime. Our aim is to expand the services available in South America and help our customers to improve the reliability and the efficiency of their equipment.”
