Green Field Energy Services, Inc. recently announced the company’s commissioning of a turbine-driven fracturing pump, powered by natural gas, which flowed in from a pipeline at the Port of West St. Mary in South Louisiana. The fracturing pump was run on a variety of rates and pressures, designed to simulate oilfield fracturing operations, and it showcased an outstanding performance in rate and horsepower while operating on natural gas.
Green Field conducted two independent emissions tests while operating on two different fuel sources, diesel and natural gas. The outcome was positive in both tests, and preliminary results confirmed that the turbine fracturing pump surpassed U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Tier IV emissions regulations with each fuel source. The company can now offer its customers significant fuel cost savings along with clean air emissions.
