The Swedish company is acquiring dewatering, liquid ring vacuum pumps and systems, and compressed air companies.
Atlas Copco, a Swedish provider of industrial productivity solutions, has entered into an agreement to acquire National Pump & Energy (NPE), a company offering dewatering, environmental services, and water treatment solutions in Australia and New Zealand. This acquisition serves to enhance Atlas Copco's presence in the market for dewatering and water treatment solutions, as well as strengthens its position in the region.
“NPE has strong market recognition and great expertise,” Andrew Walker, Business Area President of Power Technique, said. “The acquisition will strengthen our presence in dewatering and water treatment, where needs are increasing due to climate change and more frequent flooding events. This is driving the need for fast response and specialty dewatering solutions." NPE's expertise in providing environmental services and water treatment solutions for large-scale dewatering and sewage bypass projects is expected to complement Atlas Copco's existing product portfolio.
NPE primarily serves infrastructure construction, municipalities, and mining operations related to electrification metals. The acquired company will join the Specialty Rental Division within the Power Technique Business Area.
In addition to the NPE acquisition, Atlas Copco has completed the acquisition of assets from Shandong Bozhong Vacuum Technology Co., a company specializing in the design and manufacture of liquid ring vacuum pumps and systems. Shandong Bozhong Vacuum Technology serves clients in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, both within China and internationally. The acquired business will be integrated into the Industrial Vacuum Division within the Vacuum Technique Business Area.
Moreover, Atlas Copco has acquired the compressed air business of Asven, a privately-owned Argentinian company that specializes in the sales, installation, and servicing of compressed air systems, primarily for regional industrial companies. This acquisition will strengthen Atlas Copco's presence in one of South America’s most active industrial powerhouses.
"This acquisition will give us the opportunity to expand our presence in one of the key industrialized areas in Argentina," Vagner Rego, Business Area President of Compressor Technique, said. The acquired business will join the Service Division within the Compressor Technique Business Area.
