With Safety Integrity Level certification, the XMO2pro analyzer is explosion-proof, flame-proof, and weather-proof with a built-in compact display suitable for tight spaces.
Baker Hughes unveiled a new oxygen analyzer to provide increased levels of stability, accuracy, and reliability—the XMO2pro. The oxygen analyzer is designed for resiliency in hazardous locations and accurately measures 0.01% - 100% of oxygen concentrations in gases; it does not contain moving parts and leverages paramagnetic technology to deliver quick, reliable, and precise detection of oxygen concentrations.
Additional Features & Applications
The XMO2pro requires minimal calibration and allows customers to reduce the total cost of oxygen analyzer ownership. Baker Hughes’ design is Safety Integrity Level certified and features a built-in display, making it a compact, ideal solution for tight spaces. It is also Modbus enabled, streamlining the monitoring process and offering advanced connectivity across customer networks. Additionally, the XMO2pro is:
It falls under the company’s Panametrics portfolio and will enable enhanced safety performance and bolster efficiency across numerous market sectors, such as inerting applications in reactors and hydrocarbon storage; biogas upgrading in wastewater treatment and landfill sites; and monitoring oxygen levels during the steel industry’s heat treatment process for quality control.
Why Detect Oxygen?
According to Baker Hughes, oxygen gas analysis is required for safety, efficiency, and control in industrial and energy processes. The presence of oxygen can cause corrosion and, when mixed with other gases, may cause explosions, fires, and toxic fumes. Oxygen detection is often needed in the oil and gas, biogas, pharmaceutical, and steel industries.
Baker Hughes’ Panametrics
In June 2024, Baker Hughes released three new measurement sensor products for gas, flow, and moisture detection and monitoring: the XMTCpro, HygroPro XP, and T5MAX Transducer. These technologies maintain reliability, durability, greater accuracy for critical measurements, and long-term stability in harsh operating conditions. The sensors are designed to improve safety and productivity in hydrogen and other energy applications.
The XMTCPro can reliably and accurately monitor hydrogen and oxygen gas concentrations to ensure they reside below explosive limits. HygroPro XP is designed to protect customer products from the impact of trace moisture across oil and gas and industrial applications, quickly and accurately measuring moisture in gases and hydrocarbon liquids in a wide dew point range. The T5MAX Transducer has a signal strength four times stronger than the T5 Transducer, enabling significant improvement in ultrasonic flow meter performance for difficult hydrogen and gas flow measurement operations.

Last week, Baker Hughes agreed to 77 km of flexible pipe systems for deployment at the Petrobras-operated Brazilian pre-salt fields—specifically, the Búzios, Libra, Berbigão, Sururu, and Sépia fields. The contract, with delivery beginning mid-2026, includes:
The systems will manage stress-induced corrosion cracking from CO2, which often occurs as gas is reinjected into wells to reduce flaring and enhance oil recovery. Pre-salt fields with high CO2 concentrations can cause corrosion cracking, but Baker Hughes’ flexible pipe system mitigates the issue. On Petrobras’ side, the company will limit operations-based CO2 emissions and leverage CO2 storage to produce low-carbon barrels.
