Ansaldo Energia recently won a contract worth about €170 million to supply an open-cycle power plant in Algeria. The plant will be situated in the province of Batna in central Algeria, about 350 kilometers south of Algiers.
Ansaldo Energia will supply the Ain Djasser 3 open-cycle power plant with two gas turbines of about 170 MW each (in ISO conditions), plus the relevant generators. Sociéte Algérienne de Production de l'Electricité (SPE Spa), a Sonelgaz group company, assigned the contract to Ansaldo Energia. An international tender invited the sector’s leading players to put in bids, the company said.
One of the country’s original equipment manufacturers, Ansaldo Energia has a total installed capacity of over 4400 MW.
