Sinochem will use the cloud-based turbomachinery data to scale best practices, improve asset performance, and drive efficiencies.

Under an enterprise agreement, Sinochem contracted Baker Hughes to install its Cordant Asset Health digital solution at 10 chemical production facilities in China. This provides Sinochem’s diagnostics teams with centralized rotating equipment data to minimize unplanned downtime, identify failures proactively, and reduce production losses across the portfolio. With data organized in the cloud, Cordant Asset Health will improve overall visibility and collaboration.

"This agreement is an example of how we are supporting industrial customers on their digital transformation journeys,” said Aravind Yarlagadda, Senior Vice President of Industrial Solutions, Industrial & Energy Technology at Baker Hughes. “By combining our deep-domain expertise with advanced AI-powered digital technologies, we are helping Sinochem deliver their commitment to building more intelligent and sustainable operations.”

Sinochem will leverage unified turbomachinery data to develop and scale best practices, apply operational learnings, enhance asset performance, and establish efficiencies at the highest organizational level. This agreement represents Baker Hughes’ first high-level Cordant deployment in China and aligns with the company’s goal to expand into the chemical and industrial markets.

Managing Fragmented Data

Large-scale industrial organizations often face difficulties with managing and monitoring equipment across widely dispersed locations, such as fragmented data, delayed insights, and inefficient performance. To address these digital transformation challenges, more companies are adopting centralized data strategies that allow:

  • Real-time visibility
  • Company-wide collaboration
  • Scaled performance optimization

Baker Hughes’ digital technologies enable Sinochem to integrate end-to-end value chains and drive intelligent, evolved operations. Overall, Cordant Asset Health promotes increased efficiency, extended asset life, and maximized returns on investments.

Leucipa Software

In mid-October 2024, Baker Hughes partnered with Repsol to develop and deploy AI-powered automation workflows through the Leucipa automated field production solution. These workflows will be implemented throughout Repsol’s assets to enhance operational capabilities, improve efficiency, and reduce emissions. Leucipa helps oil and gas operators proactively manage production and reduce carbon emissions.

The automated field production solution:

  • Focuses on the specific outcome an operator wants to achieve, gathering and leveraging data to drive intelligent operations.
  • Reduces inefficiency, ensures more sustainable operations, and enables customers to help recover the millions of barrels that would have otherwise remained in the ground by automating production processes.

In mid-March 2025, Baker Hughes agreed to provide TURBINE-X Energy with its NovaLT gas turbine technology and auxiliary equipment, such as gears and power generators, to power numerous data center projects in North America. TURBINE-X Energy, a Baker Hughes-licensed packager, will supply these industrial gas turbine packages in a combined-cycle configuration, helping U.S. data center project developers and power producers meet the growing energy demand.

The NovaLT gas turbine will provide data center customers with the flexibility to adapt and meet their specific, reliable, and sustainable power requirements. It can start-up quickly and burn multiple fuels, such as natural gas, hydrogen-natural gas blends, and 100% hydrogen. In addition to powering hyper-scaled data centers with turbine technology, Baker Hughes can use geothermal, cogeneration, and the Net Power platform to meet increasing electricity demand.
