The signed strategic agreement will promote the joint operation of Commonwealth LNG’s natural gas facility in Cameron Parish, LA.
Commonwealth LNG has announced that it signed an agreement with Baker Hughes regarding the development of LNG facility in Cameron Parish, LA. Baker Hughes is tasked with assisting Commonwealth LNG in maximizing plant output while reducing carbon emissions.
The plant will be outfitted with Baker Hughes’ LM9000 aeroderivative gas turbine technology—a unit for turbines in the 65+ MW power range. Equipment orders for LM9000 components will be fulfilled in conjunction with the financial close of the Commonwealth LNG project, estimated to take place in the first quarter of 2024.
The LNG facility will be upgraded with other Baker Hughes equipment, services, and software to support general operation and maintenance. Compressor technology, spare parts, maintenance services, and the Cordant Asset Performance Management suite will be supplied to produce LNG at the Cameron Parish plant. Commonwealth LNG expects the partnership with Baker Hughes to allow for the commencement of LNG production in early 2027.
