The company’s local team will repair capital parts, supply spare parts, and provide turnkey on-site services in France and its overseas territories.

EDF granted an exclusive, three-year master service agreement (MSA) to EthosEnergy—it covers the maintenance of 20 heavy-duty gas turbines across France and its overseas territories. EthosEnergy’s local team will service the MSA, enabling communication and close collaboration between the partners.

“As an independent service provider, we are dedicated to continual investment in our people, solutions, and localized services,” said Mario Cincotta, East Hemisphere EVP at EthosEnergy. “This is why we have taken the step to service this MSA with a dedicated team in region, streamlining communication while delivering operational flexibility and reliable maintenance services for EDF.”

The MSA also includes an option for a three-year extension, with EthosEnergy repairing capital parts, supplying spare parts, and delivering turnkey on-site services for EDF’s heavy-duty gas turbine fleet. The agreement is designed to unlock value through increased efficiencies.

“Strengthening EthosEnergy’s presence in the French energy market, this contract further bolsters our wider global growth strategy,” added Cincotta. “Our solutions and responsiveness make EthosEnergy an ideal partner for maintenance on critical equipment, which are vital to energy security and delivery. We look forward to working with EDF during the years ahead and continuing to grow EthosEnergy’s presence in France and its territories.”

In late August 2024, One Equity Partners agreed to acquire EthosEnergy for an undisclosed price. EthosEnergy was established in 2014 as a joint venture between John Wood Group and Siemens Energy AG, each contributing their non-OEM rotating equipment business lines and intellectual property.

It provides aftermarket maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), in addition to outsourced operations and maintenance for power generation and industrial customers operating industrial gas turbines and related complex equipment. EthosEnergy employs more than 3,600 people across 23 global sites and facilities and three divisions: optimized solutions, operations and maintenance (O&M), and aerospace and defense MRO.

In April, EthosEnergy received a multi-million-dollar contract to perform intermediary O&M services for the custody, care, and control of six power assets (plants) in Mexico. The six plants involved in the contract, in northern Mexico, add 3.9 GW of capacity to EthosEnergy’s O&M portfolio. Over the next several months, the company will work with the power plant owner to transition the assets into its portfolio.

EthosEnergy’s scalable O&M solutions use proven processes and strategies to provide a complete overview of a plant’s assets and implement safe, compliant, and profitable operations. The company has managed more than 100 facilities and over 40 GW of power generation throughout its history, including several power plants in Mexico.

And, in March, EthosEnergy opened its O&M-based performance center in Houston, TX, allowing EthosEnergy to 100% manage operational control of power generation assets if the company so chooses. The O&M center provides continuous real-time start-stop capabilities, asset monitoring and diagnostics, and the support of EthosEnergy engineers to assist a power plant’s long- and short-term energy operations.
