Digital proximity system improvements
As part of their Digital Proximity System (DPS), Metrix is now offering a new phase trigger once-per-turn marker solution. In installations with a faulty once per turn phase marker, the vibration monitoring system is rendered virtually useless. The recently developed DPS enables the repair of faulty once-per-turn phase markers, without the need to shut down and open up the machine. This helps to avoid unscheduled downtime, or extensions of downtime on startup.
Operationally, the speed system works at up to four pulses at 100,000 rpm, or 400,000 pulses per minute. The DPS can be used to gain the scale factor, in order to obtain an adequate pulse for the vibration monitoring system to report correct phase and speed values. This speed adjustment feature is included with the free DPS software.
