Siemens modernising captive steam turbines for zinc producer in India

Siemens Ltd is modernising and commissioning 80 MW steam turbines for Hindustan Zinc Ltd, India’s leading zinc-lead mining company. The modernisation of the power asset fleet of Hindustan Zinc includes state-of-the-art design steam turbine components and digital technologies. Siemens will also provide on-site project services on a turnkey basis.

Six 80 MW steam turbines are being upgraded with new state-of-the-art design and digital technologies. The turbines work is being carried out at Siemens’ Vadodara Factory. The move is designed to improve efficiencies and result in an estimated reduction of 1 million tonnes of carbon emissions.
