Siemens to provide gas turbines for 615 MW Mexican plant

Siemens will provide H-class power plant technology to Mexico, and the equipment will be installed in the new combined cycle power plant 298 CC Valle de México II. The natural gas-fired plant will have an installed capacity of 615 MW and will be located Acolman municipality. Its commercial operation is scheduled for December 2017.

 

Siemens will supply two SGT6-8000H gas turbines, one SST6-5000 steam turbine, three SGen-1000A generators as well as the SPPA-T3000 control system for the turbines. Siemens will also supply the auxiliary equipment, materials, spare parts and special tools, as well as extend TFA onsite engineering support.

 

The customer is a consortium consisting of Cobra Instalaciones y Servicios and Initec Energía from Spain, and Avanzia Instalaciones from Mexico that will build the plant on an EPC basis. The three companies belong to Spanish Construction and Services Group ACS. 

 

The gas turbines, generators and the steam turbine will be produced in the Siemens Charlotte gas turbine manufacturing plant in North Carolina in the United States.
