To address Ukraine's power needs, USAID is sending the country a GE TM2500 aeroderivative gas turbine. The TM2500 is useful for emergency power response situations due to its fast start up and shut down times. A single unit can generate approximately 28 MW of power, which can supply electricity to over 100,000 homes in Ukraine. With its quick installation time of a few weeks, it can reinstate power to damaged facilities or be connected directly to the electrical grid. The turbine is expected to provide power to essential infrastructure providers, medical centers, schools, residences, and other organizations.
