Newsom has served in leadership roles at Mitsubishi Power for almost 18 years, most recently as Executive Vice President of New Generation Systems.
Mitsubishi Power has appointed William A. “Bill” Newsom, Jr. President and Chief Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. effective December 1, 2021. A 28-year power sector veteran, Newsom has served in leadership roles at Mitsubishi Power for almost 18 years, most recently as Executive Vice President of New Generation Systems, which includes new turbomachinery and the company’s development of the hydrogen value chain.
Prior to joining Mitsubishi Power, Newsom held leadership positions at Westinghouse Electric Corporation, Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation, and Calpine Corporation. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Newsom stated, “I am honored to lead Mitsubishi Power Americas as we strive to enable customers with decarbonization solutions for the energy transition. I will fully support our mission to provide power generation and storage solutions to our customers, empowering them to affordably and reliably combat climate change and advance human prosperity.
